The US Small Business Administration honors Sue and Al for their advocacy efforts.

The U.S. Small Business Administration honored Sue and Al with the Minnesota Financial Services Champions of the Year award on May 6th of this year at The Depot in Minneapolis.

This award recognizes individuals who assist small businesses through advocacy efforts to increase the usefulness and availability of accounting and/or financial services.

From free seminars to small business community education classes; speaking engagements on topics such as best business practices; to serving on the boards of Nucleus Clinic, a woman’s health center in Coon Rapids , and the Anoka County Workforce; Sue is serving the needs of family-owned and closely held businesses as well as the wider community.

Al was one of the founding stockholders in Community Pride Bank; it is the only bank chartered with its headquarters in Ham Lake. Al helped to start “Free2B” a nonprofit business that repairs and donates automobiles in Anoka County to help promote economic independence for people in need and helped start “Bikes4Kids” which does the same with bicycles.

Al set the groundwork and Sue continues the Sannerud, Savarese and Associates P.A . dedication to serving the needs of our small business clients and our community.

Congratulations, Sue and Al!

Thank you to Mel Aanerud for putting together the nomination packets for this Award, and thank you to Jolynn Erikson and Wendy Renner from the Ham Lake Chamber of Commerce for nominating Sue and Al for this Award.
